To prevent any leakage and to ensure pressure integrity of the metal-to-metal seal connections, the minimum make-up torque requirement has been increased to 50% of its tool joint torsional strength. The maximum make up torque is still calculated based on 60% of tool joint torsional strength.

 

The following metal-to-metal seal connections are affected:

During this calendar year we have seen our companies indirectly stricken by 2 major hurricanes (Katrina and Rita), supported the relocation efforts of our Corporation from Harvey to Broussard, supported community-based hurricane relief efforts, brought on board several new employees, expanded our pipe yard and asset inventory, and completely relocated UFRT into its new Warehouse Facility on the WS-Broussard Campus while continuing to maintain our industry-leading level of safety and quality of services.

ANOTHER HSE MILESTONE!!! At the close of Q4 ‘04 both WS and SIS had worked the entire calendar year of 2004 free of OSHA—recordable incidents. In fact, this achievement extends even beyond the previous calendar year. On January 1, 2005 WS will have worked INCIDENT –FREE for 439 consecutive days while SIS will have worked INCIDENT—FREE for 628 consecutive days.

During the fourth quarter of 2003, Workstrings had both tubulars and accessories working for Chevron-Texaco when they set a new world record for water depth drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. On November 16, 2003, ChevronTexaco’s Toledo prospect with Transocean’s Discoverer Deep Seas drillship reached 10,011 feet of water. Workstrings supplied all rental tubulars (5 7/8”, XT57 and 4 ½”, XTM40) and specialty accessories to this project.
